It’s without a doubt that Sygic is a master in this domain. The app offers many hi-def maps, complemented by many functions that render navigating a lot easier and faster. You can try the app out for 7 days free, and then choose a license, which has a lifetime validity and gets regular updates.

CoPilot GPS

CoPilot GPS offers a bunch of maps for pretty much the entire planet. This are available offline as they are stored right on your SD card. You can then connect the app to your various social networks, like Facebook and Twitter, in order to easily start the navigating to an event for example. The first map is free (you can choose among a specialized list), and then CoPilot functions in license form.

MapFactor: GPS Navigation

MapFactor functions with OpenStreetMap maps that can be installed right on your Android smartphone. When you put them to use, you won’t even need internet connection. The huge advantage is that it’s free, but on the other hand, it isn’t fault-free: on occasion the apps aren’t very precise.

OsmAnd Maps and Navigation

This free version of Osmand offers all you need for easy offline navigation. The app also uses OpenStreetMap maps, and is often updated. The paid version (7.99 USD) offers information from Wikipedia for the points of interest that you’ll come across, ideal for vacations.

What could be better than the king of GPS to navigate with your smartphone? The maps are available and updated for a lifetime, there are also multiple navigation options and all of this is of course offline. The paid versions are quite expensive, but offer detailed maps for all the regions in question. There are individual apps for Europe (79.99 USD), US & Canada (54.99 USD), Brazil (38.99 USD) and more!
