Galaxy S4 software update: improvements to the battery

The Galaxy S4 is about to get an update that adds some new features to last year’s Samsung flagship, such as a kids mode. The battery life should also see a large improvement.

The software update is set to rock the S4 in the next few days, bringing the smartphone one step closer to the Galaxy S5. One of the included features to come is a kids mode, which will change the entire user interface of the home screen and reduces access to games and media as well as make some functions inaccessible.
The update changelog also mentions performance improvements, like with accessibility tools and emergency assistance for example, as well as energy usage. After the update, the batter should last longer than it did before. There will also be some improvements and bug fixes to the general user interface and performance. What’s more, Knox will be upgraded from version 1.0 to 2.10.
The update will arrive over-the-air via Kies, the install size being of 130 MB with version number XXUGNE5.
