International Galaxy S4 Active Android 4.4.2 update starts now
The international version of the Galaxy S4 Active (G-I9295), Samsung’s more tough and rugged version of the Galaxy S4, is now officially going to be updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA (over-the-air). Users who don’t want to wait for the update to roll out can also install the official firmware XXUCNE5 beforehand. The update has some new features and improvements up its sleeve for the Samsung smartphone.
The update to Android 4.4.2 will do quite a few things: up the ante with performance, improve battery, UI changes, new settings and functions: there will be a quick access icon for the camera on the lockscreen, new white symbols in the status bar, the choice of having Hangouts as your default messaging service, cloud printing support and an improved standard keyboard. Other features include a full screen mode for album art when listening to music. You can read more on this in our look at Android 4.4.2 on the Galaxy S4.
Again, if you can’t wait for the update to come to you, you can download it using the firmware over at the Sammobile website. Using Odin v3.09, you can flash the firmware onto your device as long as you have a personal computer.
A few bugs have been noticed from users who already have the Android 4.4.2 update, so let us know if you see anything odd. Did you receive the update yet?
