WatchESPN

This first app we are about to mention is WatchESPN which will allow you to watch the matches live at all times of the day. That being said, for these live streamed videos, you need cable, satellite, or a pay-TV subscription that includes ESPN networks. Check to see if are you are currently registered with one of the listed providers on the app’s Google Play page (such as AT&T U-verse, Time Warner Cable, Google Fiber etc). ESPN is the best place to catch matches live on your Android or iOS smartphone, tablet, PC or console, since it will cover all 64 of them. The app is only available in the USA, and is compatible with the Chromecast Dongle.

Another app to follow the happenings of the World Cup is ESPN FC Soccer & World Cup, like exclusive game highlights (US only), news, goals, key plays etc.

Wiziwig TV

There aren’t that many apps that will stream the matches live for you. But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch them on your Android smartphone or tablet. Using a streaming website on an Android browser will also do the trick, such as Wiziwig TV. This website isn’t just for soccer, many other sports can be watched, and compiles live broadcasters from around the world in one list to easily skim through and find the one that works for you. There’s already a Wiziwig page with all of the FIFA World Cup 2014 matches.

Thanks to FIFA, the 64 matches will be beamed to the new International Broadcasting Centre, where global broadcast channels with rights will be able to show the matches in various countries. The full list of media rights licensees for the World Cup can be found on the FIFA PDF licensees document, so check to see where it will be broadcasted in your country. Then go to the website of the companies next to your country’s name to see which streaming possibilities are offered.
